2015 campaigs: First Lady dares IGP, INEC

Months ago, the Inspector General of Police, IG Muhammad Abubakar,  summoned  all AIGs and Commissioners of police across the country to an emergency meeting in Abuja where he gave an order for the arrest of any politician caught campaigning for 2015 general elections.

2015: How NGF crisis will serve Jonathan’s interest

With the Nigerian Governors Forum (NGF) successfully and tactically rendered inactive by President Goodluck Jonathan, political pundits are suggesting that the crisis, which has factionalised the once united forum, will most likely advance the ambition of the incumbent president in 2015 election.

Registration over, hurdles before the APC

The registration of the All Progressives Congress (APC), obviously came after a seemingly protracted and tortuous journey by the various opposition parties who are signatory to the merger agreement. Before then, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had been repeatedly upbraided for refusing to register the merger party. INEC’s delay in the registration of the new party brought interludes of criticism and political manipulations, which apparently has the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the unsung mastermind.

PDP’s ‘irresolvable’ reconciliation: Herculean task before Dickson committee

Dikko’s new task as PDP disciplinarian

Second Republic Minister of Transport and Chairman, Presidential Task Force on Rice  under former President Shehu Shagari, Alhaji Umaru Dikko, was recently appointed to chair the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s Disciplinary Committee.
